Dr Yogita Khasa

Principal Dentist
Dr Yogita Khasa grew up in India and has lived locally since 2006. She passed the Australian Dental Council exams in 2008 and since then practising dentistry in Australia Dr Khasa also holds Master’s degrees in Health Services and Public Health from the University of Western Sydney. Dr Khasa’s specialities include orthodontics, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, prosthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Her clinical interests include cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign, and aesthetic dentistry and implantology. Dr Khasa loves her career and finds having the ability to give people beautiful smiles, increasing their confidence and happiness is immensely satisfying.

Like our entire team here at Smilexcellence, Dr Khasa is dedicated to helping others live healthy lives through improving their oral health. She firmly believes the need for good health, and especially oral health should never be overlooked or taken for granted.  Dr Khasa is proud to sponsor our local soccer team, and she regularly donates to fundraisers. In her spare time, Dr Khasa enjoys spending time with her kids, travelling, music and entertainment, and she loves to keep fit.

Dr Zeba Sayd

Raised in Mumbai, Zeba Sayed's passion for dentistry was ignited early on, witnessing her family grapple with dental challenges. This personal connection fostered her dedication, propelling her to earn a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Nair Hospital and Dental College in 2013. With a decade of expertise and a certification from the Australian Dental Council, Zeba is proficient in aesthetic dentistry, implants, and endodontics.
Zeba's approach to dentistry transcends clinical procedures. To her, it’s an art of blending creativity with precision. Crafting bespoke dental solutions, she revels in restoring smiles, ultimately elevating her patients' confidence and overall well-being. Beyond clinical prowess, her dedication to the artistic aspects shines through, ensuring every patient receives a harmonious blend of function and aesthetics.
Mental, physical, and emotional well-being are cornerstones of Zeba's definition of health. With this holistic perspective, she forms bonds with her patients, understanding their needs on a profound level, enabling bespoke care that resonates with individual preferences and health requirements.
Outside the dental suite, Zeba is a keen gardener with an affinity for DIY projects and home design. Her commitment to her community is evident in her volunteer work, especially her proactive role in early learning centres, teaching dental hygiene. Always up for a heartwarming chat, Zeba's topics of interest range from adventures and gardening to the latest intriguing Netflix show, exemplifying her multifaceted personality and making her a cherished asset to the Smilexcellence team.

Dr Nitika Bhat

Dentist
Dr Nitika Bhat grew up in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, and has lived locally since 2008. Dr Bhat graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and passed the Australian Dental Council exams in 2011. Dr Bhat realised her childhood dream when she qualified as a dentist in 2011, and she gains immense satisfaction in delivering beautiful smiles to her patients. She is a very experienced and caring dentist, and Dr Bhat’s specialties include periodontics, prosthodontics and paediatric dentistry. She particularly enjoys treating kids, and as a mum, she soon sets them at ease in the dental chair.

Dr Bhat loves general dentistry and is especially passionate about preventative dental care and in showing patients how to take care of their oral health. She tells her patients that prevention is always better and cheaper than treatment, and especially given the potential protective effect on overall health. Dr Bhat has a special interest in prosthodontics and restorative procedures and extractions. You’ll regularly find Dr Bhat donating her time for charity events in the area.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Bhat’s hobbies include reading and music and spending time with her family.

Dr Sawsan Alhafith

Hailing from Moscow, Russia, Sawsan Alhafith, affectionately known as Sawsan, brings a fusion of international experience and profound expertise to Smilexcellence.

With proficiency in English, Arabic, Russian, she seamlessly connects with diverse cultures, ensuring every patient feels understood.

A graduate with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry in 1992, her educational odyssey also includes a Dental Council Certificate from the Australian Dental Council (2021). She's currently furthering her skills with a Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology at the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Surgery in Brisbane.

Specialising in Implantology with a keen interest in Dental Implantology, Sawsan's approach to dentistry isn't solely about clinical practices. For her, being a dentist is about enhancing patients' self-confidence, imparting knowledge on preventive measures for lifelong oral health, and recognising the correlation between oral and overall health.

In her downtime, Sawsan relishes in interior design, immerses herself in books, passionately discusses football, and cherishes moments with family and friends. Her dedication to community wellbeing shines through as she strives to promote robust oral care.

Alethia Tanner

Dental Receptionist/ Dental Assistant
When you visit us at Smilexcellence, you are sure to be warmly greeted by Alethia, our friendly Dental Receptionist who grew up in Sydney. She will make sure you quickly feel at ease and can answer any questions you might have about your appointment. Since joining us in 2018, Alethia has become a valued member of our dental team, and she is excellent in ensuring our patients feel cared for and comfortable. As a mum of two, she is especially good with children who can sometimes feel a little apprehensive during their initial visits with us. Alethia’s skills also extend to Dental Assisting, as she achieved her Certificate III in Dental Assisting from Tafe. Alethia is exceptionally easy to chat to, and she is always cheerful.

Outside of dentistry, Alethia loves spending time with her children and enjoys music and entertainment.

Hygenist Gulbeer Kaur

Hygienist
Gulbeer is our new hygienist. She has completed her bachelor’s degree in dentistry in 2004 from Sri Guru Ram Das Dental College, Amritsar. Gulbeer has been in Sydney since 2007, she also finished her Advanced Diploma in Dental Hygiene from TAFE, Gilles Plain in Adelaide in 2016.

Since then she has worked in various clinical setups and has gained extensive experience of working with a variety of patients. Gulbeer enjoys working with patients and get great satisfaction to see them healed of their problems. She believes that everyone deserves a great smile.

As a hygienist, she has developed a special interest in the areas of supportive periodontal therapy, diagnosis and management of early/advanced periodontal conditions, oral health education and promotion, and oral health risk assessment and prevention. Gulbeer always has good positive feedback from her patients.

With her good communication skills, she easily puts her patients’ at ease and makes them feel comfortable. She had extensive experience in working with children. She keeps her knowledge up to date by attending CPD (continuous professional development) courses. Besides that, Gulbeer has a keen interest in painting, gardening, reading, and cooking.

Himani Sharma

Dental Assistant

Himani Sharma is a Dental Assistant at Smilexcellence. Himani grew up in Chandigarh, India and is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi. She trained as a Dental Assistant in Australia, graduating with her Certificate IV in Dental Assisting from TAFE. Since graduating, Himani has gained considerable experience in Dental Assisting and has worked with us at Smilexcellence since 2019.

Himani is a firm favourite amongst our patients due to her gentle touch and calm manner, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and relaxed while receiving treatment. She very much enjoys her career as a Dental Assistant and derives great pleasure in being part of a team that can restore people’s dental health and smiles. Himani likes all aspects of dentistry but is especially interested in root canal therapy and how treatment can save infected and damaged teeth, leaving patients with a healthy and pain-free mouth. She also likes crown and bridge work and implant dentistry and loves seeing the transformative effect of dental veneers on someone’s smile.

When not helping patients, Himani likes spending time with her family and is a mum of one. Himani’s hobbies include music, entertainment, and travelling whenever she can. She also has a keen interest in cooking and is always open to discussing new recipes with patients.

Gitanjali Mahajan

Dental Assistant

Gitanjali Mahajan grew up in Jalgoan, Maharashtra, India. Gita is fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi and has been with us here at Smilexcellence since 2020. Gita graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 from North Maharashtra University before completing her Master of Computer Science degree in 2000.

Since joining our team, Gita has become an invaluable member of Smilexcellence, especially as she is passionate about the benefits of excellent dentistry. Gita chose her career because she finds it immensely satisfying to help people achieve a healthy, confident smile. A smile is the first thing you notice when meeting someone, and Gita loves having the opportunity to help people smile again without feeling self-conscious about their teeth. She finds her career as a dental assistant extremely rewarding, particularly being part of a team providing valuable oral health care services in our local community.

Gita also greatly enjoys developing trusting relationships with our patients, especially those who may have initially felt a little anxious or nervous about visiting our practice. She loves the sheer variety of dental assisting and the diverse range of responsibilities involved with helping the dentist and our patients, especially as no two days are ever the same. Being chairside and making patients feel special, cared for, and relaxed is the best feeling in the world for Gita.

Away from dentistry, Gita is a mum of two and loves spending time with friends and family. She likes to relax by listening to music, enjoys travelling, and has been known to cook up a storm in the kitchen.
