Sweet Potato Gratin

This recipe makes a great side dish for any meal.


¼ cup melted coconut oil

1kg of sweet potato, cut into 1cm pieces on the round

2tsp sweet paprika

1 cup coconut cream

2 cloves crushed garlic

1tsp black pepper, turmeric and sea salt

Sesame seeds that have been toasted, dukkha or crushed walnuts to serve


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and toss sweet potato pieces in bowl with coconut oil, garlic, turmeric, paprika, black pepper and sea salt.
  2. Arrange potato pieces standing up in a small oven-proof dish or tin. Cover with foil and cook for 40 minutes.
  3. Remove potato from oven and remove foil. Add the coconut cream to the potatoes and return to oven uncovered for another 30 minutes.
  4. Serve with sesame seeds, walnuts or dukkha.
