Banana Buckwheat Pancakes for the Kids!

Although kids love this recipe, grownups do too, and it is the perfect sweet treat served with extra banana and vanilla bean yoghurt!


95g white spelt flour

120g buckwheat flour

1tsp ground cinnamon

200g mashed bananas

3tsp baking powder

1 egg

180ml milk

60ml maple syrup


  1. Place the baking powder, flours, and cinnamon in a bowl and mix. Add the maple syrup, egg, banana and milk. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Heat a little unsalted butter in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Add 80 ml of the batter and cook for two or three minutes on each side until golden. Repeat until all the batter is cooked, keeping pancakes warm.
  3. Divide pancakes between four plates, top with the extra banana and yoghurt and serve with maple syrup.
