Teeth Mistakes You Didn’t Know You Were Making

Even if you try to take good care of your dental health, it’s likely that you are still making some mistakes that are easy to put right.

Failing to Floss

Your toothbrush can’t reach right in between your teeth so it’s essential to floss once a day to help prevent tooth decay and gum disease. If you hate flossing, ask us for practical help and advice.

Brushing Too Hard

Brushing your teeth too hard can damage your tooth enamel and will wear away your gums. Choose a soft bristled toothbrush and use small, gentle, circular motions to get your teeth thoroughly clean.

Drinking Diet Fizzy Drinks

Fizzy drinks, especially diet drinks are extremely acidic and will erode your tooth enamel. If you must have a diet fizzy drink, use a straw to minimise contact with your teeth.

Chewy Lollies

Chewy lollies and sweets tend to last for a long time, sticking to your teeth and increasing the time your teeth are exposed to sugars. Ideally, avoid chewy sweets and even chocolate is a better option because it quickly melts in your mouth.
