Dental Crowns and Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are both restorative treatments. A crown is also called a cap and completely covers up a tooth that may be broken down, heavily filed or discoloured. Dental bridges are used when a tooth is missing entirely and may be supported or anchored in place by your natural teeth either side of the gap. These anchor or abutment teeth are carefully shaped before being covered up by dental crowns which are attached to the replacement tooth, called a pontic.

Our dentists at Smilexcellence take great care when designing and making dental crowns and bridges, only using advanced and lifelike materials, which closely replicate the natural shape and colour of teeth. Several different materials can be used, but for the most lifelike outcome, you may wish to choose an all-ceramic crown or bridge, which will provide you with the very best aesthetic results. Every restoration is made to restore the appearance of your smile while ensuring you have teeth that feel comfortable and which function correctly, so you can eat, talk and smile with confidence.

Once your crown or bridge is fitted, we will provide precise instructions on how to look after it. The proper oral care will help to prolong its natural life, ensuring you can enjoy it for longer.
